Principales activités
The establishment of eight governance and management structures to revitalise village natural resource management committees;
The completion of participatory mapping and zoning of the project area, which should lead to biodiversity hotspots being granted protected status;
The deployment of environmental DNA research as an ecological monitoring tool;
Training five people (per village) from the local committees of the eight villages where the project is being implemented in aquaculture pond/basin management techniques;
Installing eight multi-hearth ovens for processing fishery products;
Planting one hectare of Acacia auriculiformis per village for use by the local population as fuelwood;
Planting and maintaining at least 5,000 mangrove seedlings to restore vegetation cover and reduce habitat fragmentation.
