History
Born as an environmental and social branch of the HBD group and financed by entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth, the Foundation is now independently managed and has a strategic plan focused on biodiversity conservation and social and economic development of the communities of the island of Principe.
Today, the Foundation has a team of nearly 50 employees, more than 90% of whom are local, who implement land and marine conservation projects in partnership with regional authorities and local communities. Financially supported by more than 15 funders, the foundation collaborates with a large network of regional, national and international partners that is growing every day!
