État du projet achevé
With the development of traditional medicine and the official integration of traditional healers into Burkina Faso’s health system, the harvesting of medicinal plants is becoming a significant issue, already endangering several rare plant species, some of which have already disappeared from certain regions of the country.
The aim of this project is to preserve the biological diversity of medicinal plants in Burkina Faso, through support provided to the Association des tradithérapeutes du Houet “la Sagesse” (ATTPH) for the establishment and management of a medicinal plant grove.
The autonomy of traditional healers in terms of management, together with environmental education, constitute the project’s two specific objectives, which is framed within a perspective of sustainable site management.
