History
A Terrimar was founded with the aim of curbing the poaching of sea turtles that was taking place on the island of Santo Antão. The NGO was established in 2011 as an initiative focused on the conservation of turtles on the island. In 2021, its scope of work was expanded, and today Terrimar operates across various environmental areas beyond sea turtles, including the conservation of endemic plants, seabirds, birds of prey, and protected areas.
