• Contribute to biodiversity conservation and sustainable land/waterscape restoration – supporting species conservation, protecting habitats and ecosystems, restoring degraded land/waterscapes, and promoting sustainable value-added use of natural resources.
• Contribute to climate change mitigation and adaptation for people and biodiversity resilience.
• Develop A Rocha Ghana’s institutional capacity – human resources, inclusive capacity development, and youth empowerment programmes.
• Provide effective, impact-driven services and strategic partnerships – governance structures, communication and education, advocacy, and building a broad constituency.
• Mobilise sustainable funding for all interventions.

A Rocha Ghana’s story began in a conversation among friends after a Sunday church service, questioning why creation care was largely absent from Christian practice. This grew into the conviction that God is interested in every part of His creation.

The Eden Conservation Society was registered in November 1999 and joined the global A Rocha International family in 2003, becoming A Rocha Ghana (ARG) – now membre of the UICN.

The organisation is grounded in five core values – Christian, Conservation, Community, Cross-cultural and Cooperation.

Today, A Rocha Ghana is a nationally respected environmental NGO, working across the Mole, Atewa Forest and Lake Bosomtwe landscapes, as well as coastal Ramsar sites (Muni-Pomadze, Keta Lagoon Complex), with a focus on mangrove restoration and sustainable coastal management.
