History
The Organisation Ecologique des Lacs et de l’Ogooué (OELO) was created in November 2010, when residents of the Lac Oguemoué community came together to think about how to protect their lake and its environment for future generations. The first OELO project became an ecotourism site, Tsam Tsam, in order to create a source of income for local residents by protecting biodiversity while generating revenue for OELO’s conservation projects. In 10 years, OELO’s mission has expanded.
